Ring in the holiday season with our annual celebration of Elmhurst’s German roots, now in its 5th year! Elmhurst’s authentic German choirs, Damenchor and Männerchor, perform German carols. Jolly Old St. Nick will join the festivities to explain his legend and take photos with guests. Hot cocoa and sweet treats will be provided. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas! Donations for the giving tree to support Yorkfield Food Pantry will be gratefully accepted. No registration required, all ages welcome.

Make it a Hometown Holiday in downtown Elmhurst! Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive via the Holly Trolley around 4:30 and will be available for pictures until 8 p.m. Enjoy dancing with music by a live band and DJ. Visit the Elmhurst History Museum's booth for an It's a Wonderful Life photo op. Adult beverages available for purchase, fire pit stations on site for warmth. Free rides on the Hometown Holiday Express Kiddie Train. Kick off the holiday season with your neighbors and friends with this fun outdoor celebration.

During the Victorian Era, elaborately detailed valentines were a popular way to express admiration and affection with loved ones. Participants of all ages are invited to view our display in the Heart's Desire exhibit for inspiration, and then make a special valentine to be shared on February 14th.
